Presentation on Papal Orders of Knighthood
Joins us on September 13 for a special presentation by Rutherford Johnson on Papal Orders of Knighthood. Not well-known in the US, they are one of the richest parts of the history of the Catholic Church. Often known as Papal Decorations, they are personal honors of the Pope given to Catholics and non-Catholics. Each Order has its own distinct uniform and insignia, and the members comprise the Papal Army. Papal Knights are expected to serve as role models and are traditionally the temporal defenders of the Faith. The discussion will cover general information about the Papal Orders and will also touch on Papal Nobility, Religious Confraternities, and associated Orders. A number of related artifacts including documents, robes, insignia and decorations will also be on display. Afterwards join us for dinner at Rumors on Man O' War.
